Minimalist UI Design
Influence of minimalist design on user psychology in making purchase decisions in a clothing brand
This case study project will analyze and design a minimalist UI for a clothing brand, and explore the influence of the minimalist look, whether from components or other factors that impact user psychology, either on users' decision-making process or brand perception of the minimalist design.
To find out these things, I will do so by investigating user interactions between minimalist designs, both from emotions, user experience, and cognitive responses.
I wanted to find out what people feel when they see minimalist design, how they think the product looks, and how it affects their choices.
Benefits of Minimalist design
It can influence user psychology by creating a sense of simplicity and clarity. Through a clean layout, and uncluttered interface. Minimalist design can foster a calming and focused look for users. The reduction of visual distractions can reduce cognitive overload, which can lead to an increased feeling of ease and comfort when navigating a website.

The objective of this case study is to design minimalist UI and know how users psychologically perceive and respond to minimalist design, and to determine whether minimalist and elegant design can influence users' willingness to make a purchase decision.

Research
I collected data with a survey that I distributed and was filled out by 30 people. The survey consisted of 5 questions with 3 answer options that related to the user's preference for a minimalist look on the website.
I also created a user journey map to be able to outline the main stages of the user journey, including actions, goals, feelings, and opportunities for design.
This helped me to gain insight into the user's perspective and create a suitable solution.

Based on the results of research and initial surveys that have been carried out, there are several main points related to design that is in accordance with user preferences. Then from these points are elaborated so that several challenges and solutions are obtained in designing a minimalist design.

Ideate & Design
This phase will focus on generating design solutions based on the insights in the previous phases. I also create design-related things such as sitemaps, UI design, wireframes, high-fidelity, and prototypes.
I created this design solution to align with the brand identity, minimalist design, and initial objectives. The solution helped me to outline the structure, layout, functionality and incorporate the brand's minimalist aesthetic on the user interface.

Testing
Testing phase focuses on assessing the effectiveness of the design solution against the objectives. By evaluating the design, I can iteratively refine the design to ensure that the design meets the needs and expectations of the target audience.
This aims to assess user satisfaction and experience, the impact of minimalist design on user perceptions of brand quality and user emotions with the minimalist design.
Testing was conducted on a maze platform using unmoderated and remote usability testing, involving 20 participants, with the overall score obtained from the test is 76.

Conclusion
Through user research, design creation, and usability testing on designs, I gain user preferences, allowing me to make design decisions that align with Minimalease's target users and brand identity. Putting the user at the center of the design process helped me create a design that would meet the user's needs to produce a more positive experience.
From the usability testing results, an overall result of 76 was obtained and it was found that minimalist design can have an impact on user psychology in terms of comfort, emotions, and decision-making.
